Definition of the P0562 code
The P0562 code is written when the PCM (powertrain control module) detects that the vehicle voltage is lower than required. If the vehicle voltage level drops below 10.0 volts for 60 seconds or more while idling, the PCM will record the code.
What P0562 means
The vehicle charging system works to maintain the normal vehicle voltage level, typically in the range of 14.1 to 14.4 volts DC at idle without the headlights on. If for some reason the PCM detects that the vehicle voltage level is too low, the P0562 code is set and the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) or Check Engine light comes on.
